Oh my Blog..:-(

I have neglected my blogs for almost a year now... this I know..

Then I asked myself Why?...

here are some ideas I've come up with.

  1. I'm not angsty anymore. No anger = no fuel = no fire = no Blogging
  2. I'm not doing anything noteworthy.
  3. I have been doing things much too "noteworthy" to put it down in black and white on this, my web-log
  4. Most of the interesting stuff I want to tell people, I do it in the here and now on Facebook. (I don't even Twitter, not enough space for ranting)
  5. I've been genuinely happy. And we all know how preachy and boastful it sounds when people write about their own happiness.
Note:
Things Write about :
Own misery ( yes ), Others' misery ( No! )
Others' Happiness ( sure why not? ), Own Happiness ( Hell NO! )

So which is it?

Yes the past year has been happy and satisfying for me in the arenas of personal, sexual and relationship growth.

Things I thought I'd never do, I did. Things I wished would happen to me, did!.. Ask me for the sordid and salacious details in private!

I went to Bali again! :-)

I'm too old to be angsty...I wouldn't say jaded, but not as bright eyed and bushy tailed as before. I'm piqued by things that fascinate me more than excite me. Because fascination borrows from your mind, heart and imagination and turns something interesting into a magical show.

I am awed at watching Stars as night, their gases burning bright..the Universe is a wondrous thing. And the most fantastic thing about our universe and our existence is that, it is a series of random events that has brought us humans into being. And for us to have the appreciation of that, is truly amazing.

I am awed at watching the Sun rise through the trees and watching the lightening day. The colours shift from Dark night - deep blue - violet - pink to orange and yellow and finally the bright sky-blue blue skies of the morning.

I enjoy a good laugh.

I realised I quite like mid sized doggies with personalities and a penchant for clean laundered tidy whities. Buddy Brutus is # 1!!

I relish good chats with friends. I love my friends but better still, I'm still willing to make new friends. Some people have friend quotas which gets filled the older they get. Not me. Of course you fight, you laugh, you hate them sometimes and love them most of the times. They're your Mates... it is their duty (to be a Mate).

I love Robyn (all her recent music), Delorean, Microwave Popcorn, Simgsons, South Park, Big Bang Theory, Iced Caramel Frappuccino (double blended), Kent Reds, Ramli Burger (Burger Ayam double Special Satuuu) watching the Moon rise. Closed eye visuals, followed closely by Laser Lights, that "WHOAAAA-I-gotta-it-down-for-a-minute" feeling, airconditioning, My sisters and Dad, sleeping wow I realized just how much I love sleeping this year and Choco-Potato Chip (get it from Royce's chocolates yummy!)

I dislike (because hate is such a strong word) waiting for people to arrive, leaving late which means arriving late, cardio workouts, headaches, limited space on my external hard drive, brussel sprouts, serial misspelling, American Idol, Reality TV shows that feature law enforcement (C.O.P.S or Bounty Hunter), not getting what I ordered, being told "I told you so!", being lost with a blurry sense of time, queues, traffic jams, people complaining nonstop about traffic jams, jars I can't open, melted KitKats and overtly dramatic situations.

So, I've just been getting to know Me better, I guess..

ah...

You live and learn.

At any rate, you live. *

Ja ja ja Jason Mraz yeZZah!

On the way to see Jason Mraz's concert. Ye ye yeah! The cosmic fish they like to kiss, giving birth to constellations. She's so big hearted but not so remarkable. Lucky I'm in love with my best friend. Scootch on over closer dear, i'll whisper in your ear. It's alright, lets all take it easy and celebrate the malleable reality, We Loves you Jason! Dig Digweed!

Matt & Kellie

Kellie & WaZZa

Digweed

Thanks to Jeremy who got us in to watch Digweed spin on Saturday. WOW! it was fantastic, though i wished the pace was harder and faster but i kept on forgetting it's not trance or techno, it's progressive but it was certainly uplifting. After the lights went up, the crowd chanted "we want more, we want more, we want more".. so John being the English gentleman spun a couple more tunes for us!

left us uplifted and wanting more.... Digweed is Special!

and oh, if you're wearing a scrunchie to Zouk, don't bother coming! and if you're her friend, slap her and tell her scrunchies are not proper attire for a club.

and oh as well, if you're a dance leaner... god please don't lean on me and forgawdsakes don't be telling me off for accidentally leaning on your friend when your big butt was the one that was leaning all over the place in the first place.

and oh i just love two for 1 drinks... feels magnanimous when you're actually spending a small sum. lol

It's been too long....

What the hell have I been doing? It's been a wonderful year. It's been a trying one at times too. This is why I haven't even had the time to do up my blog even though I've got scribefire on my Firefox complete with updates..

Highlights of the year...

Celebrated my one year anniversary with my loved one. Love you bebe! To more years and endless fun together.

Met Chef Emmanuel Stroobant!!!! To those not in the know he's the Chef in Black on the Asian Food Channel ( Channel 703 on Astro). He worked here in Shangri-La KL for a food demo for California Raisins. He is left handed like me too!!! hahahah and he is hillarious, charming, funny as well as oh so pleasing to the eyes. I got a pic with him and his Pastry Chef who is actually the quiet cute one as well. Yummy. Worked with him for three days and it was the best 3 days of my entire working career! and I've got the autograph to prove it too! I'm a happy boy! YAY!!

I've been promoted to Chef De Partie position at the Pastry Kitchen. MUAHAHAHAHA I've got more power!!! You know what they say, Power Corrupts and Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely. Ah I shall not forget the little people who I've stepped on to get to this level. hahaha! Kidding! I've been waiting for for ages. I thank God for this blessing.

Hmmm can't think of anymore highlights... Ohohohhhhh I've got a juicy piece of news but not now.. will update y'all in a couple of months about it. Something big something exciting something like no other in KL! Wait for it! Watch This space.

WaZZa is O.U.T!!

Party happy, sleep soundly.

The officialy party for the Sepang F1 grand prix. Speedzone 2007.
Hmm I know there's a double entendre there somewhere hehehehe.

So we bought tickets, had to queue to get it so we hoofed it up KL tower. One Ticket Per Person Per Transaction it said, so that they could curb underaged ravers I guess. ~grin~ So you can imagine to our overaged delight that we were asked to produce our IC.

So we got there about 10pm, with threats of rain and even a 30second thunderstorm, when we arrived, Marco V was already spinning to the shower of fireworks, Ladies and Gentlemen, DJ MARCO V!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.... the crowd went wild. Fantastic music, fantastic sound system, horrid logistics but no attitude from the crowd cause we were all there to pay homage to the music, respect the music, dance and fly to the music.

At just about midnight fireworks flared again. Reds, yellows, oranges, pinks. Sparks sparks sparks. The rain of light that showered upon our bodies could be seen through the muslin marquee and right behind us was the KL tower in all it's pink glory. And then, Ladies and Gentlemen the moment you've ALL been waiting for, make some noise for DJ YOHJI BIOMEHANICKA!!!!.... we went balistics, hard beats, punctuated with high pitched synth, the music was uplifting it was hard trance-y and freaking fabulous.

We danced til we ached, then danced some more and some more. It was a fun night, party hard all night and sleep soundly in your loved one's arms. What a grand way to spend your saturday night.

What's Hot?

Heroes is hot
"Nathan Petrelli" with his dark looks and brooding eyes makes me melt.

Hiro Nakamura's sidekick Ando Masahashi has eyes so small it disappears when he smiles but has got a nice nice bod underneath that white shirt and black tie that we wears to work.

Storyline makes you go EEK! EEP! and other unspellable words because of the plot twists. One question gets answered and three more pop up.

Watch it!

ANTM : Cycle 7 is hot

Girls girls girls, bitch fights back stabbing-melodrama, what else would a gayboy watch when unwinding from his wholesome-positive-family-
centric-life of perpetual tea parties with cucumber sandwiches with the crust cut off?

~grin~

White is hot

Clean crisp light pure. But let me tell you this,

Purity is the new Evil
White is the new Black

10megapixels is hot
Why bother with2.0 or 5.0 megapixel digital camera with auto zoom and anti shake when you can get the best pictures with 10megapixels. Startling clarity and makes the most banal setting into an object d'art? Better yet 12 MEGAPIXELS!!

Gimme gimme gimme I want!

Sleeping entwined is Hot

Entwined in your significant other's arms and sleeping, kissing him, smelling him, catching his breathing, inhaling his scent, waking up to him first thing in the morning, seeing him stir from sleep, smile and say,
"Good morning dear dear, I love you".

Now that's Hot!

You are my Star!

You are my star, You light my way,
You brighten up my nights and make my day.
You are my star, and even more
You are the friend that I've been waiting for.

So sue me for getting sentimental, But here's the A-list Celebrities in my life at the moment,
If you haven't made it it's maybe cause you haven't been paparatzzied by me yet.

Question: So how was Bangkok?

Answer:

Meandering between wakefulness and the dreamy-verse, I find myself transported to where perfect-easy smiles reign, with go-go boys in tight cut-off jeans, to where everyday is Christmas and every night is New Years Eve and where Excess is the order of the day

The company is excellent. A once-in-a-lifetime "hello which transformed into nights of contented cuddling, sugary bubblegum kissess and warm soul-embracing hugs which reached into the heavy lonely depths of your core.

The dreamy-verse is filled with colour. Colours, colours, colours and clapping-produced rainbows. Disco balls of every size brounced off prismic hues in the dark room making it shine brightly and as if the music knew exactly how the rainbows felt, it began its crescendo of uplifting strains to the heavy base thumpa-thump that keeps you grounded whilst you reached a high so smooth, so long, so whooooshing that you could reach up and kiss the stars.

After this, after Babylon, the City of Excess, the Garden of Earthly Delights, After buying rainbow coloured Elephants in a parade. After all this, I have happiest memories, light filled lucid dreams and i have the music buzzing in my head. But I miss my boy. The minute I stepped into wakefulness, in the taxi that brought me back to my plane, I missed him terribly. And I want to be with him again. To smile with him, to danceDANCEdance, to sleep in each others arms in bliss. Just to Be.

Quote of the day

We should look for someone to eat and drink with
before looking for something to eat and drink,
for dining alone is leading the life of a lion or wolf.

A note on good food.

You know when friends ask you to go out to someplace new to eat, you're just a little bit apprehensive. But when your chef friends (and by Chef I mean people who work in the kitchens) say let's go eat, I'll bring you to someplace nice. You better bring your stretchable pants.

Pizza Uno is a non prentious little bistro. Not trying to be uppity and service was prompt and friendly. They have those lil italian soft drinks which is so hard to find here. Limonata, Aranchiata and Chinotto.

We had the marinated mushrooms which was really to die for, served with chewy bread to soak up the garlic and chilli infused oil. It was fantastic to start with. The Calamares Fritos was also good. The calamari was tender on the inside and crunchy on the outside. We also had a go with the Aglio Olio with grilled prawns. That was fantastic. and at RM23.00 per plate it was worth it. The pasta was aldente *thank goodness SOMEone can do it right* and the prawns were aromatic and succulent. The garlic slices, which I'm usually not a big fan of, were positively melting on the tongue and the chilli flakes packed a nice punch. We ordered the Pollo Romeo Pizza which had chicken, black olives, cherry tomatoes and pineapple. That was alright and then there was the Seafood Paella which although was good really tested the strength of our waistbands.

Of course talk centered on food. What else would chefs talk about? The best place for sunday brunch which features eggs, ham, sauteed mushrooms, grilled tomatoes, brioche, coffee and orange juice (it's a toss up between La Bodega and Bakerzin both in Bangsar) and the best gelato available here. (Hands down it goes to Lecka Lecka). The best cakes in town (We still believe they're the best at Shangri-la) and the best Sweedish Meatballs (not at Ikea but at Puzzini Pizza in Uptown)

We talked about how we made our herb infused oils and chili flakes made with chili padi from Sabah. We pondered on triple layered moarsmallows, using the gorgeous jade coloured pistachios to grind up and make macaroons. We want to sandwich hazelnut ganache between nougat discs and dip themin dark chocolate and we talked about how to make the best creme brulee. Soft and meltingly tender inside and covered with a golden burnished crust of demerara sugar on top. It's like cracking your way into heaven in a ramekin.

All the talk made us all the more hungry and all the more eager to go out and do dinner again.

Soon.

Any takers?

Not so perfect

Love, ah me.

Being in love is the greatest feeling on earth. Like you didn't know that. You know it. The fuzzy wuzzy funnies in your tummy. The I-can't-wait-to-touch-him-again feeling. Being in love makes you do irrational things. You'd buy him seven pairs of socks just so he's got one for every day of the week. You'd fake an illness for a hot session in bed. You'd tell your friends you've gone back to your hometown when you're actually in bed together for the whole time then tell your workmates how fantastically boring it was back there it was that you didn't know why you balik kampung in the first place.

Being in love makes you lie. ~chuckles~ makes you steal time, cheat death and run up a thousand dollar phone bill.

Then the rhythm sets in, you're home, he's not. He's home, you're too tired to layan him. The laundry piles up and you wonder where the heck your mad money went to. The very things that made you crazy for him is driving you mad. The way he walks, the way he talks in front of friends, the way he always wants things for him on his terms.

"You're in love, that's the way, it should be, and I want you to be happy...."

You get used to each other then the"in" part of being in love drops out and hopefully you still love each other. Love each other enough to be together and live out your dreams. Love each other enough to look past the not-so-perfect things you and him have intrinsically. Love each other enough to be truthful to each other. Sometimes love each other enough to let go.

"What is love? baby don't hurt me, no more..."

Though things are not-so-perfect, he still loves you. You still love him. Maybe you should brave the storm together because you've got each other bad or good, weak or strong, rich or poor.

It's a good thing that they lgalised gay marriages in the UK, then people would think twice about just breaking it and going on a sex-spree because "it's not like we're married or anything" . This thing is called responsibility. Taxes, paying the rent, mopping up vomit, picking up the dirty underwear, cleaning out the sink, buying the groceries...

Maybe I'm just a traditionalist... my parents don't believe in divorce, neither do I.....

Maybe I'm just in denial because I am being used.

Maybe I just need a good fuck to get over it all.

Maybe I just need him.....

Meanwhile I'll just hang in there.

~chuckles~

~sighs~

Blissfully Yours

Even you'd feel like a star walking up those brightly lit steps toward velvety curtains and hearing the thumpthump thump of music as you enter. Good morning boys. Bodies gyrating, hips grooving, sunglasses worn and half smiles bestowed on the cute boy passing you by.

It's 1am and it's just beginning to fill up. Everyone's there. Young trying to look older so as to belie their teens, older men trying to look younger so as to belie their impending second childhoods. The music is loud. Then there is the hellos and how-a-yas? to pseudo friends and kindred spirits.

Then I see him, deep set eyes, shadow of a goatee *be still my heart* and a smile on his lips. I chuckle at the young indonesian boy hanging on to him for dear life.

"What do I do? I didn't do anything and he's all over me" says he. Like you don't like it baby. He's cute and young and willing. Just have some fun-lah. The music is thumping. The music is loud.

I can see he doesn't want to. He's playing the role. Just like the one he plays with his straight family and straight friends. On one hand he's a good Catholic boy who listens to his parents and works in a shirt and tie. On the other he's a gay boy. fullstop.

Catholic gay boy. Oh aren't we a rare race? ~laughs~

He's confused with boundaries and comfort zones. Although both have their limits but the latter is self inflicted and one is happy to be in it because it's where we can be totally ourselves and not pick up our used socks from off the floor for days on ends. Why put ourselves in a quandary when we can just not push it and be ourselves. It's the same with his other boys. It's all done in secret. Liasons only known after the fact. After the deed. After the breakup indeed. "I break people's hearts" says he. You don't have to baby. You don't have to do a lot of things like lead beautiful girls, who will make excellent mothers, on a leash when you don't intend to go for the slightest bit of a walk with them.

The music gets louder and louder before it melts away into some unidentified 80s hit and then the lights come on.

We gather ourselves and get going, with aforementioned cute indonesian boy in tow. We send the boy home. The boy is hopelessly in love already. I can see it.

Christmas... Pretty lights on the trees!

Its that time of year again, I can feel it!
The stores are already stocking their shelves and floors with Christmas trees,
overpriced but beautifully adorned.
Christmas CD's are making their appearance
Christmas songs are making their way into my repertoire of Songs-I-Sing-When-I'm-On-My-Own
I'm already thinking of Christmas presents to give to the kiddies, big and small included
Christmas puts me in a lot of moods and here are some of them..
Christmas always gets me in a giving mood...

~grins~ I can't help but blow my budget at Christmas. This year maybe I'll give everyone Christmas cards and then put all their names in one hat and pull out three and give only three great presents this year. I'm always giving half baked lousy boring presents ~laughs~ maybe this year I can give presents that are really worth something. Not like bath towels or a Cinderella Video or God fobid Pillows!

Christmas always puts me in a singing mood...

When I was in high school. I always joined the Christmas Carollers, dividing my time between them and the St Simon Chapel's Choir singers. I loved singing in harmony and Christmas songs are just made that way. When sung in harmony it sends chills up my spine in a good way.

Christmas CDs to help with the season :
Jim Reeves Christmas (old favourite of the family)
Mariah Carey Merry Christmas (personal favourite)
New Kids on the Block Christmas Album (throwback from my childhood in the 90s)

Christmas always puts me in a sentimental mood...

Mariah Carey's Christmas Album tops the charts every year for me. Mariah is surely on fi-ah! (fire) *L* when she sings All I want for Christmas is you.

Christmas Memory : Me in Malaysia and my significant other is in Australia. Mariah really hit the nail on the head when she sang "I miss you, most at Christmas time, and I can get you...no no no no! Get you of my mind" I cired, then smiled of the times we were together, the early christmas we had. ~sighs~

Christmas Memory 2: Us kids having our own Christmas when our parents went to Bethlehem to have theirs. Then on the 27th, they came home and our family had Christmas dinner together. That was the best year. Two Christmasses in a year! Plus I had my first SEED outfit, beige pants with matching vest and a 100% white linen shirt.

Christmas always puts me into a drinking binge...

Oh goodness gracious. Being Kadazan just makes it an excuse to drink whenever there's cause and what bigger cause than to Celebrate Christmas? It'll be drinks at home (beer bought by dubious means, wrapped in black plastic bags and delivered to our doorstep) and then drinks with friends (at house parties), drinks at relatives houses, drinks at the clubs.. and it carries on til New Years eve!

Christmas always makes me appreciate my friends and family

Because they're there for moi when it matters most, physically, emotionally, financially and spiritually. I don't even care if they don't celebrate Christmas, I'll wish them the best when it's the time.

Tis the season to be jolly.
So, don you now your GAY apparel!
and have a falalalala la la la la time this year!

Star light star bright

First star I saw last night.
It wasn't a falling star, it wasn't just ashes and stardust.
It was the divine Ms M!
No, no, no hollywood sightings (I doubt Bette Midler would be having buka puasa here) in dear ol KL but Ms. Sheila Majid.

Dainty, beautiful and luminious. I was star struck. She was standing right in front of me. The queen of jazz. The diva of all divas *in the best sense of the word mind you* and she asked for some Creme caramel. Sweet, smooth and filled with complex nuances.
~sigh~ I love her.
