I heart KL

You heart KL. We heart you Jason! He was awesome! We uplifted, elevated and rotated! We sang, we danced, we stole pictures with our mobile phones. While we were sweating so much from the non-existant air conditioning, Jason assured us 'don't let your mind keep you from having a good time.' we did Mr A-Z! We certainly did. I sang til I'm hoarse. Jason we love you! Come back to us soon!

Tsk tsk tsk

This is EXACTLY what you don't wanna be seen doing after a heavy boozy saturday night. Unconscious, ass crack showing, in a foetal position on the street with your girlfriend with her head between her legs. Tsk tsk tsk... If alcohol was discovered in recent years, it would've been deemed an illegal substance. Good thing the streets of KL are warm enough for you to have your slumber! LOL!

WTF have I been doing?
Absolutely everything.
in the 2 weeks that streamyx decided to bail on us and the people at TMNET decided to "report that you are quite angry" that my internet services were cut abruptly and not connected after a day but after two berloody long weeks I have had non-internet time.
It was horrible
It was enlightening
It gave me much more time.
So WTF was I up to?
Well.... there was our White Party Purity is the new Evil White is the new Black housewarming party where people came bedecked in white white white and it was good. Feeling was awesome having friends over oohing and aahing over our new pad. It was a success in my mind. People, food, drinks and the sprinkling of controlled susbtances made for a very engaging party.
People did their thang, some hung out at the kitchen where the cockpit for our space brownies were. Some hung out at the balcony amidst the soft tinkling of our wind chime which is meant to bring us luck. Some chose to stay in my sisters room outplaying each other on Computer Boggle and Computer Readers Digest Word Power. Like I said your own thang. We skidaddled out before midnight and made our way to the clubs. Had an "oh-what-a-rush" night with the shiny happy people that we are. Ah bliss...

Then there was the Long labourdayweekend. Parties stretched from Saturday to Tuesday and me and my beloved managed to hole ourselves in Traders Hotel and thank you for the chupa chup on the bath towel what a cute touch! on a great rate so we could enjoy each other and enjoy how high we could soar up in the skies. Sleaze Ball by princeworld was fantastic. Had an amazing time and an unforgettable honeymoon with my bebe. The room in traders was beautiful and had plenty of photo ops there hahaha! Felix was snapping so many pictures on his 3.2 megapixel camera phone.
Then there was the cake orders to be done. Big time baby! McDonald's 25th Anniversary Cake! Cause after all these years, we're still lovin it! Thanks to Joseph's connections we got this gig and hopefully will stamp our mark and get more orders. Hmm gotta get name cards printed out and fast! Then there are the Mothers Day cakes to do and then there is a wedding cake for my ex-colleague to be sent to Terengganu. so many orders..no lah not that much but it needs to be coordinated well so as not to clash with my high flying career as a pastry cook... yeah right! ~grin~
OHHHHHHHHHH! and yes... I've joined the ranks of the straight-gay imbalanced peoples by joining the gym. Cali Fitness the Mecca of Gayboys in the heart of KL. Platinum member somemore. ~grin~ and a personal trainer whom is I think in my mind being kind to a 30y/o faggot hahahaha! i'll show him I'm tough as nails. at least after he gets through with me! hahaha!
I'm not joining the gym to show off my body and be vain for others sake, I'm doing it for health!!! and my own vanity's sake. And if I get to build more stamina from it then hallelujah!!
I have this theory that if I've got a gorgeous or even semi gorgeous body that I will be a slut. Loose cannon, boycunt... just like Nelly and Timbaland were singing about but then hell I was 29 and you KNOW what that means...and I've got the sleek black "SLUT" dogtag to prove it. Courtesy of Derek and Colin :-) I am not a slut, I don't think I have more sex with arbitrarily chosen strangers more than the next person. I have values and principles. **say it with me Derek : And if You don't like them I have others!**
WTF have I been doing? Party party party.. that's me... danceDANCEdance.
Seems like a preeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetty small universe i'm living in but I'm contented at the moment. Hey let the ex-fat but still chubby gayboy who didn't have a wild young life a chance. I'm catching up. But even better, I know when to pull back and be the adult that I was ever since I turned 9.

The freedom of choice, do you choose to eat from the forbidden fruit? Do you Choose to Share the intimate innate raw guilt ridden satisfaction of tasting the Apple? Do you?

JPN Era Baru
"JPN ERA BARU" proclaimed the sign as we walked into the National Registration Department.
After the whole grand saturday night with Marco and Yohji, I found that I was without wallet. Damnit. 5th time according to the lady behind the counter. "Sorry boy, you have to pay RM120.00 to renew your IC, sorry ah."
Joseph and I arrived at about 11.55 .and got our numbers. It won't take long I said, they're pretty fast I said, the numbers climbed fast and steady 3146, our number's almost up (our numbers being 3150 and 3151) and then it's as if Hiro Nakamura froze time without freezing the people. The numbers stopped. The people got restless. Joseph had to make himself unavailable for work and an appointment at 2:30pm... yeah... it had been that long.
"Tuan Tuan dan Puan Puan, di harap anda bersabar kerana sistem komputer kita tergendala sebentar, kakitangan kita di Putrajaya belum lagi boleh menyelesaikan masalah teknikal, jika
dalam setengah jam belum ada perkembangan *pause*... *pause*... *pause* .... saya akan membuat pengumuman yang lain, Sekian, Terima Kasih"
Translation :
"Ladies and Gentlemen, we hope that you will be patient as our computer system is down. Our personnel in Putrajaya have not yet solved our technical problems. If in half an hour there aren't any developments *pause* ... *pause* ... *pause*... I will make another announcement, Thank You"
Wha huh??.... so we waited til...3:15pm and then the numbers started pinging again... and in no time our temporary National Registration Identity Card or affectionately known as MyKad was ready. Actual face time was about 45 minutes, real waiting time was letsee... 3 hours and 46 minutes. Phew.... New Era my @$$.... apparently according to a complaint letter in the suggestion box, these things happen rather frequently... but then having said that, how come they know it happens so frequently?.... did they lose their MyKad more than 5 times already that they know the routine of the NRD.
I'm a very patient person... i really am, I can stand what a lot of people can't. And I wasn't too phased out by it but thinking back, this is like hours of my fantastic life I've wasted waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaiiting... *sighs*
On a brighter note : Picture Of The Day!

POTD : my new favourite drink. Teh-O-Ais Kurang Manis tanbah Redbull. Try it, you might like it ~grin~ it may be the most refreshing and waking up drink you've ever drunk.

POTD - Picture of the day
So here I was thinking why I don't update my blog every-so-often. There's nothing to say. Duh. I always have something to talk about. It's just that it seeps into my lucid dreams and somehow gets diluted in the daily toils of the day. Pastry production, watching tv, rushing to and from work....
Why only today I.... hmm .... you know when you think about it, it becomes insignificant... so gotta get it when it's fresh, which is why I'm going to start this thing * crossing fingers it lasts longer than a week*
Picture of the Day!... to which I'll take with my trusty Motorola L7 so please don't belittle the lack of megapixels. ~grin~ HINT HINT... see previous blog post.
Today's picture is

That my friends is a dessert done for the a charity rugby dinner held at work. It's a Chocolate hazelnut royaltine (for those of you in the know say "aaaaaahhh!") sprayed green and piped with white chocolate to resemble a rugby field embellished with white chocolate goal posts and a quenelle of raspberry sorbet in the shape of a rugby ball. Cute huh? Well we did like 500 of those rugby fields. Them poor service staff had to carry them two by two so they had a lot of running to do to get them to the positively liquor libated guests at the charity auction.
Timeline to get them done :
To make 40 trays of hazelnut royaltine = 5 days
To cut and spray 40 trays of hazelnut royaltine = 7 hours
To pipe white chocolate field lines = 6.5 hours
To churn and quenelle 500 pcs of raspberry sorbet = 9 hours
To pipe 600 * cause they kept on breaking* white chocolate goal posts = 4.5 hours
That makes a grand total of 147 hours for one dessert. Could you imagine our work load? That's juggling our daily production, our other banqueting functions, Inter Kitchen Transfer requests, last minute requests from the royal palace, last minute setup changes and the like.
At the end of the night, it all ran smoothly, we had a good time, adrenaline pumped, my executive chef was chasing my sous chef around playing tag like little kiddies.
So in conclusion, the POTD is a way for me to highlight my day and so i'll have something to blog about. More to come...
p/s I agree with banning underweight models. Plus sizes! plus sizes!! I prefer my men meaty anyways ~grin~
Adios!

Enter The Dragon
With one month to prepare and of it two weeks to conceptualise, a week and a half to do all the icing sugar filigree piping, cutting out of pastillage and three intense days(of absolutely no more than 1/2 hours sleep in 60 hours) to bring the cake together. It all was worth it. Here is the Gold Medal Winner Entry for Class 4: Wedding Cakes, for the MIBC Challenge 2006. (A pastry competition held here in KL). Bagged by shangri-la Hotel's Pastry 2nd Commis, Me!
Now I can sleep, now I can celebrate.
I won I won I WON! YES!!!
Gold Medal for me. ~sighs happily~
I'm so happy I could cry...
A big thank you to all peoples who've come together to bring this victory to our turf. The Shangri-la KL pastry team, you guys are worth your weight in Gold. To my fantastic housemates (Colin, Derek and Steve) who've been there supporting me and telling me when to give it a rest so i don't fall from exhaustion.I loves you guys! To my family who've rooted for me from afar. To my sister Marilyn who've supplied me with help to stay awake! To a certain man who's been sending prayers from Bangkok, we'll see stars tonight baby *L* Gee this sounds like an oscar speech and I already hear the band playing me off stage...
